Painting and drawing have always been a very important element in Janet’s life from a very early age. Janet’s interest now lies in recreat-ing the luminosity and brilliance of everyday subjects. Whether she is painting landscapes, still life, portraits, or the human figure, what re-mains a constant, is the ever-changing interplay of light and shadow.

In addition to the workshops mentioned above, I have taken a variety of art courses as well as artisan courses throughout my adult life, learning various techniques such as stained glass window making, ceramics, both hand thrown and machine-made, advanced glazing techniques, copper-enamelling, weaving, jewellery-making, wax molding, watercolour work-shops, oil painting classes, life drawing classes, classes in acrylics, drawing from a live model etc. Classes have been taken at the now-defunct Saydie Bronfman Cultural centre, at the Visual Arts Centre, Westmount, Quebec, at the Cote Saint Luc Cultural Centre, at the YMHA in CSL, at the Pointe Claire Cul-tural Centre, Stewart Hall, Pointe Claire, Quebec, and at the Sarto Desnoyer Cultural Centre, Dorval, Quebec
